Diet plays a major role in diabetes lifestyle management, in monitoring/ adjusting dosage of medication, activities etc. With diet modifications in diabetes, a major risk factor for diabetes complications can be addressed, by being able to provide calorie and carb restriced, protein enriched pattern to address malnutrition issues. So awareness and practice, both are needed here

Yes to type 1 diabetes, and also to those who are on a very low carb diet etc. But obsession is not suggested. Rather than that, one can systematise dietary/ behaviour and activity pattern to achieve desired goals

Yes, many are there. It is possible to those who show consistency in practising it. It does wonders.

Personalised approach only will help in each person’s dietary modifications. But still, in general, we can say a carb restricted, protein enriched diet with plenty of low calorie liquids and fiber foods should be of help. Also, adequate sleep, physical activity, stress management etc too play a major role

What is the recommendation regarding Oats?
Oats are whole grains and are healthy , but there are different types of oats , with different nutritional values. Oats groats is the healthiest as it is the whole form with most nutritious and least processed. Next is steel cut oats and then rolled oats. The least nutritious of the lot is instant oats.
